FUN FACT
January was named for the roman god, Janus, known as the protector of gates and doorways, who symbolize beginnings and endings. Janus is depicted with two faces, one looking into the past, the other with the ability to see into the future. What a fitting symbol for this first day of the year.
REMINDERS
As snow season approaches, remember to keep vehicles off the roads during plowing, you may park in the Recreation Center parking lot.
Ice Melt – rock salt or potassium chloride will eat away at concrete – use calcium chloride or magnesium chloride instead.
When parking in the parking lot, please be mindful that your vehicle does not overhang the walkway adjacent to the Craft Center so that the walkway remains accessible to all.
The lock box will be phased out over the coming months. We ask that you begin sending all payments directly to the Leisure Knoll Administration building at 710 Whiskey Road, Ridge, NY 11961.
WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?
Did you know that there is a suggestion box located in the Recreation Center? Recently, a resident used the suggestion box to call attention to the sidewalks around the pool area and buildings that are covered in mold. They will be power washed in the spring.
If you have a concern, drop it in the suggestion box and we will address it.

ENHANCED STAR EXPEMPTIONS HELP
Representatives from the Town of Brookhaven Assessor’s Office will be at the Recreation Center on February 8th, 2024 at 10:00 am to assist residents (65+) with Enhanced Star exemptions, forms, notaries & questions.
