There are gates located at both entrances of Leisure Knoll. The east gate, also known as the Kingston Drive gate, and the west gate, also known as the Sheffield Drive or main entrance.
These gates will close between 10:00pm and 5:00am
The east gate (Kingston Drive) will not be operational during those hours. All vehicles must enter and exit the Leisure Knoll Community during these hours through the west gate (Sheffield Drive).
All emergency vehicles will be able to enter and exit the community through both gates using what is called their “yelp” capabilities; this is the same device that allows ambulances and police cars to control traffic lights.
During the day between the hours of 5:00am and 10:00pm, both entrances to the community will be open.
Transparent windshield bar code tags will be affixed to your vehicle allowing you entrance into the community. Exiting the community requires no action on your part, gates will open automatically. Residents will be provided up to two (2) tags which must be affixed by Leisure Knoll Maintenance. Additional tags are available at a cost of $25.00. The windshield tag may not be removed; if it is, it becomes ineffective and will not permit entrance into the community.
In the event of a power failure, the gates can be opened manually, and a Director and back up Director will be assigned to handle this. Also, in the event of a power outage, the locks at the doors off each building become disabled. The emergency number to call in the event the gates malfunction and do not open is 631-926-7843. This number is posted at the keypad by the gate and again, it is to be used for emergencies only.
You will be issued a personal 4-digit code. This will allow you access through the entry gate (in addition to your vehicle tag), the LKA Rec Center, Craft Center and pool gate. You may also give this 4-digit code to relatives or friends in order that they may enter the gated community between 11:00pm and 5:00am. Do not call the emergency number posted if you forgot your code, etc.
