FUN FACT
The smiley face was invented by Harvey Ball in 1963. Because of its overuse it started to move away from its intent of goodwill and good cheer. Ball was upset by this and introduced WORLD SMILE DAY as a national holiday in 1999 to regain control. The celebration aspects of the day were simple yet effective: people were to smile and make small acts of kindness worldwide. By doing so, you’d smile, and in return, you would make someone else smile.
REMINDERS
Garbage cans cannot be stored outside. Please take them in after garbage pick up on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Snowbirds, please make sure that the office has your winter address.
This year’s lists for tree trimming, seeding, concrete and driveways are closed. The list for next year will open in January.
The Board does not engage residents on Facebook or respond to hearsay, gossip or anonymous letters. Please direct your concerns in writing directly to the Board and YOU WILL BE HEARD. Your written request should include your name and property address and can be dropped off or mailed to the administration office or sent via email to lesiureknoll@leisureknoll.org
WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?
Going forward, I would like to use this section as a forum to answer your general questions or concerns. If you are wondering about something, chances are someone else is also. In each issue, I will try to answer the most prevalent or urgent topics that come up. Please address these questions to Edie Reinwald when you send them to the office. You should continue to address specific complains or questions relating to your home as indicated above.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The annual election for the Board of Directors took place on September 12th. We would like to welcome the new Director, Diane Costello. The new board has had two meetings. The first was a reorganizational meeting where specific positions and responsibilities were decided upon. We also wrapped up some minor unfinished business from the previous board.
The 2nd meeting took place on September 26th. We are trying to come up with solutions for our landscaping issues. We have spoken to PLC about not mowing after it rains and are looking at ways to improve the quality of our lawns so that they are not as susceptible to damage from the landscaping equipment.
Budget continues to be a concern in these discussions.
The tennis court project continues to be a source of frustration. On the one hand, we do not want to drag this decision out for yet another year, but we also want to make sure that we have compiled and analyzed all the information necessary to make an informed decision.
We hope to be able to give you more information on this very soon.
Hope you all enjoy this beautiful month of October. Remember to keep smiling and be kind to each other! 😊
